Road To Off Grid is a UK-based media project and YouTube channel, producing content about off-grid living, design, and fabrication. We also operate an online merch store and prize draws/competitions via WooCommerce.

Contact details such as name, email address, and postal address when you enter a giveaway, complete a form, contact us, purchase merch, or buy raffle tickets.
Billing and shipping details (name, address, phone) for merch orders on shop.roadtooffgrid.com via WooCommerce.
Raffle entry data: name, email, address (for paid tickets or free postal entries to our PO Box), and responses to free-entry questions on raffle.roadtooffgrid.com.
Payment details processed securely by our merchant providers, Stripe and Cashflows (we do not store card info).
Mailing list data if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
Comments left on our website.
Analytics data such as IP address, browser type, and usage information to help us understand website performance and improve our services.
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture (if applicable) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

3. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images posted publicly.

6. Mailing List, LeadConnector, and Payments

Our mailing list and contact forms are managed through Content Creator Machine, a platform provided by LeadConnector.

LeadConnector securely stores contact information and only uses it according to our instructions.
You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.

Payments on shop.roadtooffgrid.com and raffle.roadtooffgrid.com are handled by Stripe. We share transaction data (e.g., name, email, address, purchase details) with Stripe solely to process orders/tickets; Stripe’s privacy policy applies: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy.

7. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

To process merch orders and arrange shipping.
To administer raffles/competitions, process ticket purchases (paid/free), select winners, and notify them.
To contact winners and arrange delivery of prizes (or cash alternatives if undeliverable).
To send newsletters and updates if you have opted in.
To respond to messages or enquiries submitted through forms.
To analyse website traffic and improve user experience.
To manage user accounts and comment moderation.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third parties.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined above.
Giveaway/raffle entry data (including ticket purchases) is deleted within 60 days of prize delivery (or draw close if no win), unless you have joined our mailing list or we need it for disputes/refunds.

Merch order data is retained for 6 years post-purchase for accounting/tax purposes.

Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely to help recognise and approve future comments automatically.

For users who register an account (if applicable), we store the personal information they provide in their profile. Website administrators can view and edit that information.

We may share limited information with trusted third parties when necessary, such as:

Stripe for payments.
Sponsors/prize providers for raffle winner delivery (name/address only).
Shipping carriers for merch/raffle prizes.
These partners are required to keep your data secure and only use it for the agreed purpose.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.
